As a R&D Engineer in our Shakopee, MN facility you are part of a team to designing and releasing to manufacturing fiber optic products that support the high-speed networks of the future. The role involves utilizing engineering skills to improve performance, minimize cost, and build products that are easy to manufacture.
How you'll help us connect the world:
Daily activity includes a high mix of activities ranging from designing parts on CREO, crafting product specifications, to hands-on trouble shooting as well as c Collaboration with current staff which includes other specialists and technicians in a collaborative environment. This Position has growth potential per engineering technical ladder each with growing responsibilities.
Required Qualifications for this Position
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineer (BSME) or equivalent degree. In some circumstances an applicable Associate's degree will be considered if accompanied by a minimum of 10 years of validated experience.
- Understanding of design for manufacturing
You Will Excite Us If You Have
- Experience with design/test of fiber optic connectors and cable assemblies used in Enterprise and Carrier markets per international and Domestic standards (IEC, TIA 568, Telcordia, IEEE).
- CREO experience
- Programming experience with Visual Basic and LabVIEW.
- Single and Multimode optical fiber and launch conditions
- MPO, LC, SC, and hardened fiber optic connectors
- Designing injection molded and screw machined parts
